MYCELIAL

A Dutch/Norwegian Production

The project “Mycelial” is a motion picture in three parts. The first movie in the trilogy is titled: “The Call of Mycelia”.

The main character in the film is Gaizette. She is a 36-year-old woman, a biologist and a cosmonaut. She has a 12 year old daughter Gaia. They live on Auroria in the year 2366. The planet is named after its radiant atmosphere and is located in a solar system about 20 light-years away from Earth.

Part 1:

The Call of Mycelia

Gaizette, a renowned biologist and cosmonaut, leads a team of specialists and soldiers on a perilous journey to the distant planet Mycelial in search of a rare fungus. This fungus is crucial to restoring Auroria’s rapidly weakening radiant atmosphere. The mission is fraught with danger as they face the unknown: hostile alien life-forms, treacherous terrain, and mysterious ancient artifacts.

The team discovers that Mycelial is also the home to two distinct intelligent species - the Ascomies, who are deeply connected to a vast network of fungi known as Mycelia, and the Dikaries, who seek independence from this network. Tensions rise within Gaizette’s group as they struggle to navigate these new worlds and gain trust among both species.

As they delve deeper into the planet, they discover that the Ascomies are in trouble - their connection to Mycelia has been severed, causing chaos among them. Gaizette and her team decide to help the Ascomies restore their link with Mycelia to save their species.
